Who can apply?

* Indigenous Artists who identify as: Alaskan Native, American Indian, Native Hawaiian and/or Pacific Islander; 

* Solo Artists or Artist Groups/Collectives One artist or artist group will be selected 

* Artists across disciplines: Interdisciplinary & Multimedia Artists 

* WA Residents: We are prioritizing Indigenous artists who reside in areas that we serve: Pierce County, King County & Tulalip Reservation. *Open to other Washington Residents if able to travel to areas we serve

* Age: 18 years and older 

Artists who identify as Two-Spirit, Queer, Transgender, Nonbinary, Women, Disabled, Parents are highly encouraged to apply!

DESCRIPTION OF ART PROPOSAL: 

Our Nest relatives are getting ready to fly from the nest and exit our program! We will be hosting exit celebrations once a month for a whole year with groups of our relatives to join with them in community and space not only the celebrate their participation, but also their nest baby’s third birthday. Hummingbird would love to have one big artwork to have a visual representation of our big Nest family. Please propose an art piece that you could facilitate the creation of that would include our Nest relatives collaboration and artwork that they could create at our exit celebrations. 

Competitive candidates will propose:

* A concept for one sculptural art piece to be created over one year.

* Accessible mediums to work with.

* We can accept two concepts if you have more than one idea. 

* Have some experience in teaching/facilitating workshops in the medium of your proposal.
