Creatorβs Game Culture Camp
Creatorβs Game Culture Camp
We are incredibly excited to announce our first ever Creatorβs Game Culture Camp in partnership with @uiatf
As @pnwnativelax continues to grow, one of our biggest goals is to create programming that connects Native youth not only to the game, but to culture, community, and Indigenous lifeways through the Creatorβs Game.
Throughout the day, Native youth will have the opportunity to engage in traditional lacrosse, food sovereignty, cedar weaving, regalia making, beading, drum making, dancing, and more alongside community culture bearers, artists, and leaders (all of whom will be announced soon)
We believe the Creatorβs Game has always been bigger than sport. It has always been connected to the fullness of Native life, identity, teachings, community, and relationship.
A huge thank you to @uiatf and Daybreak Star for partnering with us to help bring this vision to life.

Dumamish Tribe Heronβs Nest Celebration
Duwamish Tribe Heronβs Nest Celebration
We would be honored if you would join the Duwamish Tribe, Heronβs Nest and Shared Spaces Foundation to celebrate this historic event; the return of 3.5 acres of ancestral land to the Duwamish Tribe. We are excited to host this intertribal and international event to share culture, traditional games, food and fun!
Date: Saturday, June 13, 2026
Time: 11:00am-4:00pm (Blessing & Lunch starts at 12:00, program starts at 1:00)
Location: The Heronβs Nest - 4818 Puget Way SW. Seattle, WA 98106
Registration requested: Free - https://tinyurl.com/yr386cn5
There will be something for everyone! Enjoy salmon cooked using traditional methods. Observe and participate in traditional games such as Stick Game and Bone Game. Learn about the special plants that call this land their home on a guided plant walk. Make some art to take home to remember this historic event at our crafting tables. Celebrate our intertribal connections by witnessing Storytelling, Song & Dance. This event is supported by the Seattle Office of Arts & Culture as part of the 2026 World Cup Community Celebrations.
History:
The Heronβs Nest landback project was created in 2020 by community for the benefit of the Duwamish Tribe and the broader Duwamish River Valley community. Over the last few years the community has come together to work on the land and learn; creating art and lasting bonds. The Heronβs Nest serves community from ALL of Seattleβs neighborhoods. People come to learn and volunteer in the urban forest, the urban gardens and join in on open arts nights. Community has made Heronβs Nest what it is today, and Duwamish is very excited to host an event that will be able to celebrate this important milestone with them - the gifting of ancestral land from Shared Spaces Foundation.
